Dr. Marisa Marciano is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor & Registered Herbalist (AHG) with expertise in both the education and clinical applications of therapeutic nutrition & phytotherapy. After completing a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from The University of Western Ontario she received her post-degree medical training from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where she is currently both a clinical and faculty member, as well as Chair of the Botanical Medicine Department.
For nearly a decade Dr. Marciano has been immersed in the research, application, and teaching of herbal therapeutics to audiences ranging from the general public to Physicians & Health Care Practitioners. She has also maintained a private clinical practice focused on the custom formulation of herbal therapies using an individualized and primarily evidence-based approach that aims at integrating the safe use of herbs alongside diet, lifestyle, and conventional pharmaceutical therapies, while continually encouraging the holistic perspectives inherent to herbalism and a deep respect for the healing powers of Nature.
Also author of The Botanical Medicine Reference Guide and creator of the celebrated online herbal resource TheNaturopathicHerbalist.com, Dr. Marciano believes in empowering others to take a hands-on approach to their health through continual plant contact & education, and regularly conducts community-based workshops aimed at fostering a deeper connection between people, plants, and the planet we all call home.
